The Spring 2026 Issue of Chapter Connect Is Now Available
NEW Turfgrass Management Program at Weatherford College
Beginning this Fall, Weatherford College will be offering one and two semester certificates as well as a two-year associates degree designed to prepare students for careers in golf course and sports turf management.
Their goal is to equip students with practical, hands-on skills while connecting them directly with professionals and facilities in North Texas. They are actively working to connect with industry partners to support students through internships, site visits, guest lectures, and eventual job placement opportunities.

Proposed Bylaw Changes
The NTGCSA Board of Directors is proposing a change to the NTGCSA Bylaws. This includes adding an additional article proposing the establishment of an association endowment.
As a reminder, Class A, B and C members are eligible to vote in NTGCSA elections. Affiliate members are eligible to vote in Affiliate Director seat elections only.

The Spring 2025 Issue of Chapter Connect is Now Available!
Bully Cup Recap - East Prevails!
Led by captain and NTGCSA President, Coby Morrow, the East prevailed once again on a beautiful day at this year's 2025 Bully Cup held at Prestonwood Country Club, The Creeks Course. The West was captained by NTGCSA Secretary/Treasurer Cody Crowther, and we had nearly 70 attendees at this year’s event. Thank you to superintendent Andy Wright and the entire staff at Prestonwood for hosting us, and thank you to platinum sponsor Longhorn for sponsoring a great day! The East’s victory brings the all-time results to East 15, West 13. There has been one tie in the 28 year history of the event.
Congratulations to our Closest to the Pin proximity winners - Todd Gilmour on hole #4, Austin Brown on hole #11 and Koby Hatch on hole #17. Congratulations to our Longest Drive Winner - Chris Hendrickson.

Volunteers Needed - Veritex Bank Championship
The Veritex Bank Championship – the Korn Ferry Tour’s only event in Texas – was first played on the Korn Ferry Tour schedule in 2021, with Texas Rangers Golf Club serving as the host course in Arlington, Texas all four years. The tournament will return to Texas Rangers Golf Club on April 23-27 for the 2025 season. Agronomy volunteers are needed again this year. Two meals per day are provided to volunteers as well as shirts and hats.

Proposed Bylaw Changes
The NTGCSA Board of Directors is proposing a series of changes to the NTGCSA Bylaws. These include cleaning up some inconsistencies in the current Bylaws, as well as changing dues pricing for our Class C Superintendent and Equipment Manager memberships.
As a reminder, Class A, B and C members are eligible to vote in NTGCSA elections. Affiliate members are eligible to vote in Affiliate Director seat elections only.

It’s that time of year again!

The PGA Professional Championship presented by Club Car, Corebridge Financial and Rolex is the largest all-professional national championship with a field consisting of 312 players representing 41 PGA sections and will be broadcast live by Golf Channel. The champion, along with the top 20 finishers, will be named to the Corebridge Financial PGA Team and will advance to the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club this May.
This event will be played on both the East and West Courses at Fields Ranch April 25th – May 1st. Hard work from the entire agronomy staff, along with volunteers and supporters, is vital to Championship level course conditions. To provide the best playing experience for all involved, we are asking for support.

2022 Scholarship Tournament Recap
