Lakewood Country Club is currently seeking an experienced and motivated individual for Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
Lakewood Country Club is a private, 18-hole equity facility located in East Dallas. Originally designed by Tom Bendelow in 1912 and re-designed by Ralph Plummer in 1947. The club maintained a relationship with the design firm of Coore & Crenshaw as consulting architects for 25 years. The most recent renovation was completed during the summer of 2014 and included all new tees and bunkers, multiple design changes, improved infrastructure and a complete irrigation replacement. We maintain LS44/Ninety Six-Two bentgrass greens, Zeon Zoysia tees, and 419 fairways.
Requirements/Experience:
- 2 or 4-year degree or certificate in Agronomy, Horticulture, or Turf
- Previous golf course experience in a supervisory role, including training of staff
- Possess basic computer skills – Word and Excel
- Assists in scheduling and supervising all golf related maintenance tasks
- Exposure to bentgrass management preferred
- Toro Lynx control and/or Network VP preferred
- Must have or obtain Texas pesticide license within 90 days of hire
Special Responsibilities:
- Responsible for office tasks including payroll adjustments and approval, application records, employee documentation and equipment inventory
- Operation of equipment involved in the application of control products and fertilizers
- Assist in the formulation of operating budgets and long range capital improvements
- Participation in Grounds and Greens Committee level planning and procedures

- Estimated Salary: Up to $70K
